A benefit for ProjectExplorer, which exposes school-age children to the traditions and cultures of the world, the evening will be held at the Gibson Entertainment Showroom in Manhattan. Burgess and Dean join the previously announced Angel Desai, Erin Leigh Peck, Jamison Stern and Michael Winther. (Aaron Lazar, who was originally set to be part of the evening, has withdrawn due to a scheduling conflict.) Mary Mitchell-Campbell will be the musical director for the benefit. Show time is 7 PM.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit ProjectExplorer's South Africa film and multi-media project, which "will introduce students globally to the country's long conflict and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the AIDS crisis, raising environmental awareness and the country rich ecosystems, and recent global initiatives to end extreme poverty."
The Gibson Entertainment Showroom is located in Manhattan at 421 West 54th Street. Tickets, priced $45 (general admission) and $85 (VIP), are available by visiting www.smarttix.com. For more information go to www.projectexplorer.org.
