An additional batch of lower-priced seats, ranging from $75 to $125 have been put on sale for the eagerly-anticipated Into the Woods reunion concerts, which will take place at 3 and 7:30 PM this Sunday, Nov. 9 at the Broadway Theatre in New York. Tickets are available through Telecharge by calling (212) 239-6200. (Also, be sure to read Nov. 7’s Diva Talk column for another exciting announcement about this Sunday’s concerts. . .)
The tenth-anniversary reunion concert of the award-winning musical by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim will star Bernadette Peters, Joanna Gleason, Chip Zien, Tom Aldredge and the rest of the original Broadway company (with the exception of Robert Westenberg). The performances will benefit Friends in Deed, which provides emotional support to anyone affected by life-threatening diseases (primarily HIV/AIDS), and God’s Love We Deliver, which is dedicated to enhancing and prolonging the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS through nutrition services.
The original production of Into the Woods ran for a total of 764 performances and 43 previews and was filmed for PBS with the original Broadway company, which is available on home video. Woods boasts some of Sondheim’s most beautiful songs, including “Stay With Me,” “Children Will Listen” and “No One Is Alone.”
