Morgan James, the singer-actor who has appeared on Broadway in Motown, Godspell, and other shows, is bringing her Reckless Abandon concert tour to the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles August 20.
Her New York theatre credits also include the Frank Wildhorn musical Wonderland, in which she understudied Alice; the ensemble of The Addams Family; and the all-female January 2017 Jesus Christ Superstar concert, in which she played Jesus.
James has two stops left in North America, in Georgia and North Carolina, before heading across the Atlantic for a 24-city European tour that will take her to the U.K., Ireland, Scotland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland, and other countries. She played the New York stop of the tour at the Highline Ballroom in April.
The Idaho-born James performs numbers from her solo studio album, Reckless Abandon, which consists entirely of original material, written in the style of soul and R&B, on which she supplied her own backup vocals.She released her first solo album, Morgan James Live: A Celebration of Nina Simone, in 2012.
