McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune kicks off the season Aug. 29. Here's how the work is described: "A terrific and enduring play about two 40-somethings whose first date is like a thunderstorm, with lightning strikes of emotion, sexuality, and - maybe - love. From the pen of one of the most treasured playwrights, this is a treatise on possibilities." Performances will continue through Sept. 16.

Following Frankie and Johnny will be Michael Hollinger's Opus, the music-filled drama about a world-class string quartet, Oct. 17-Nov. 11; and the world premiere of HBO def poet Brian Dykstra's solo event, Selling Out, Nov. 28-Dec. 16.

In 2013, the Kitchen Theatre Company will present Matthew Lopez's Civil War drama The Whipping Man Jan. 23-Feb. 10; Catherine Trieschmann's Crooked, about religion, sexuality, teenage angst and mother-daughter struggles, Feb. 27-March 17; Guirgis' comedy Motherf**cker with the Hat, April 10-28; and Alice Eve Cohen's What I Thought I Knew, based on her best-selling book of the same name, June 12-30.

The 2012-13 season also includes a behind-the-scenes discussion series (Oct. 30, Nov. 20, Jan. 29, March 5); a new play by artistic director Rachel Lampert entitled And, Lately… (May 8-19, 2013); a holiday party with guest actors and musicians (Dec. 18); and the third annual Dance the Night Away (March 23, 2013).
