News Murphy, Creel, Rapp and Llana Among Making It On Broadway Guest Speakers Tony Award winner Donna Murphy, Gavin Creel, Anthony Rapp and Jose Llana will take part in the summer intensives offered by Making It On Broadway.

Based on the 2004 book "Making It On Broadway: Actors' Tales of Climbing to the Top" by David Wiener and Jodie Langel, the workshops pair young theatre enthusiasts with Broadway professionals.

The nationwide intensives offer instruction in acting, dance, improv, pop/rock musical performance, comedy song performance, auditioning and creating an audition book, theatre business, theatre business for parents, and private vocal coachings.

In addition to its seminar in New York, Making It On Broadway will offer workshops in Vail, CO; Austin, TX; and San Diego, CA.

Author and workshop founder Langel told Playbill.com that guest speakers for the New York City component (July 14-19) will include Anthony Rapp (Rent), Donna Murphy (Lovemusik) and Gavin Creel (Mary Poppins) as well as musical director Wendy Bobbit and Steven Kopel.

The two San Diego workshops (July 16-20 and July 21-23) will feature instruction from Avenue Q's Jeff Marx as well as Sarah Uriarte Berry (The Light in the Piazza) and Deborah Gibson (Cabaret). For Vail (June 11-14), Making It on Broadway will feature Jekyll & Hyde's Christianne Noll, Jamie LaVerdiere (The Producers), Joan Hess (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Telsey + Company casting director Rachel Hoffman.

Among the performers participating in the Austin workshop (July 21-26) are Langel (Les Misérables), Jose Llana (25th Annual... Spelling Bee) and Sheri Sanders (Urinetown).

Langel expects additional names to join the line-up in the coming weeks.
