The 9:30 PM concert – under the musical direction of Dan Lipton (Don't Quit Your Night Job) – was inspired by a previous performance by Plimpton and Roche at Joe's Pub, which was later included on Roche's EP "8 More." For the Zipper concert, Plimpton and Roche will perform their favorite songs, with a line-up of special guests who will offer an array of entertainment. In addition to True-Frost and Murphy, Stars in the Margin will also welcome Loudon Wainwright III, Suzzy Roche, John Wesley Harding, Julian Fleisher, Dave Hill and Bridgett Everett (At Least It's Pink). The evening also promises last-minute surprise guests.
Plimpton earned Tony Award nominations for her work in The Coast of Utopia and Top Girls. Her New York stage credits also include Cymbeline, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shining City and HurlyBurly. Plimpton will make her Broadway musical debut as Gladys Bumps in the 2008 Roundabout revival of Pal Joey.
