News   Museum of the City of NY Celebrates the Beaumont Jan. 12

The Museum of the City of New York welcomes Bernard Gersten, Michael Yeargan and Hugh Hardy Jan. 12 to discuss Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater.

Entitled "The Vivian Beaumont Theater: A Marvelous Compromise," the 6:30 PM discussion features Tony-winning South Pacific set designer Yeargan, LCT executive producer Gersten and architect Hardy. Hardy was intimately involved in the design of the unique venue that was designed by architects Eero Saarinen and Gordon Bunshaft, and Tony-winning set and lighting designer Jo Mielziner.

The evening promises an inside look at the creation of the flexible performance space that is currently home to the Tony-winning revival of South Pacific. Participants will also shed light on the challenges and opportunities of creating successful theatrical works at the Beaumont.

The discussion is held at the Museum of the City of New York, located at 1220 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
