News Museum of the Moving Image Will Honor Tony and Oscar Winner Kevin Spacey Tony and Oscar winner Kevin Spacey will be honored by the Museum of the Moving Image at its 28th annual Salute April 9 in New York City.

The evening will include tributes by Spacey’s friends and colleagues, accompanied by scenes from his films, leading up to the presentation of the award.

Herbert S. Schlosser, co-chairman of the Museum’s Board of Trustees, said in a statement, “Kevin Spacey is one of our culture’s most exciting performers. He has proven his talent and versatility in a wide range of memorable and award-winning roles, and is also an accomplished executive producer and director. This is a great time to be honoring him.”

Previous honorees, who have received the Museum’s Salute, include Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Robert DeNiro, Goldie Hawn, Alec Baldwin, Dustin Hoffman, Hugh Jackman, Steve Martin, Al Pacino, Sidney Poitier, Jimmy Stewart, Julia Roberts, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.

Funds raised from the Salute support the Museum’s programs, exhibitions and educational activities. The education programs, which include curriculum-based tours, screenings and workshops, serve 50,000 students per year.
