News   Music Theatre International's "Musical Finder" Will Connect Theatres With Potential Audiences

Music Theatre International, the licensing company that holds the rights to such works as Les Miserables, West Side Story, Annie, Fiddler on the Roof and Spring Awakening, has announced the launch of a new tool allowing theatre lovers to locate productions in their area.

The MTI Musical Finder, located on the MTIShowspace website, enables potential ticket buyers to search for MTI-licensed productions in a specific geographical location, or within a certain mile radius. Users are provided with a dynamic map that shares pertinent contact information and the location of each production. The new tool directly connects theatre companies with potential audience members who might be searching for a local production of Annie or High School Musical, by permitting searches of specific musical titles and dates of production. Search results will reflect all licensed productions, from amateur to professional organizations.

Under the guidance of CEO Freddie Gershon, MTI was also the first to launch a social networking website for theatre organizations, MTIShowSpace.com, connecting theatres and individuals from around the world. The hub allows users to share photos and authorized production videos, as well as directly connecting organizations to share production tips and resources.

Founded by Guys and Dolls composer Frank Loesser in 1952, MTI provides professional, amateur and educational organizations with the rights to hundreds of musical titles, including the Stephen Sondheim and Disney catalogues, as well as newer titles such as Legally Blonde, Next to Normal, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Xanadu, 9 to 5, Avenue Q, Hairspray and Rent.
