News Musical Bed No Breakfast Premieres at Ithaca's Kitchen Theatre Jan. 17 A blizzard strands guests at a not-so-cozy inn in the new musical, Bed No Breakfast, getting its world premiere starting Jan. 17 by The Kitchen Theatre Company in Ithaca, NY.

This is the latest (and fourth) collaboration of lyricist-librettist Rachel Lampert and composer Larry Pressgrove (known as musical director of the cult hit [title of show]).

KTC artistic director Lampert directs the work at KTC's 73-seat home. Performances play through Feb. 10; official opening is Jan. 19.

According to KTC, "In Bed No Breakfast, six people are waylaid by a blizzard in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and seek shelter at the U.P. B&B — a bed and breakfast probably not found on the list of best cozy and quaint places to stay. The owner would prefer no guests at all and was certainly not expecting so many this particular night. And what a group it is! Compounding the lack of camaraderie of the group is the lack of comforts of the inn. How long can strangers wait out a storm outside before a storm erupts inside?"

The cast features Brett Bossard, Jessica Carr, Norma Fire, Jessica Flood, Dan Kiely, Tony Simionea and Erica Steinhagen.

Lampert (book & lyrics) and Pressgrove's (music) previous musicals include Tony and the Soprano, Comfort Food and The Angle of the Sun. Richard Montgomery is the music director. The creative team also includes associate director Jesse Bush, scenic designer Steve TenEyck, lighting designer Brian Prather, costume designer Hannah Kochman and stage manager Stephen A. Wagner.
