Singers on Stage, the organization that offers musical theatre classes to hopeful young performers, presents its annual showcase, So You Wanna Be On Broadway?, 8 PM June 14 & 28 and July 19 at the Lamb's Theatre in New York City.

The "revusical" is devised by Jonathan Cerullo, a veteran of Cats, Band in Berlin and other Broadway musicals, as a collection of songs, dances and monologues on the theme of wanting to work on Broadway.

Musical director is Peter Howard (Crazy For You). Associate musical director and vocal arranger is Dennis Buck.

This is the second annual showcase for the "On Broadway Musical Theatre Workshop" sponsored by Singers on Stage. So You Wanna Be On Broadway? is performed by different casts of young adults -- aspiring singer-actor-dancers who auditioned for the workshop from all over the world.

To create an original book, Cerullo edited the submissions of cast members in which they wrote about their hopes for, and fears of, show business. The comic, tragic and revealing monologues segue into traditional Broadway songs, solos, trios, duets and production numbers. The show will include an original song by musical director Howard, "I Wanna Be A Dancer." Original dance arrangements were created for the showcase.

The performances are the culmination of 10 or 12-day workshops, during which performers train and rehearse with Broadway directors and coaches toward the showcase, which is open to casting directors, agents and the general public.

Cherilyn Bacon and James S. Gulbrandsen, owners of Singers on Stage and Singersonline.com, produce the shows. Bill Reed, the New York voice teacher who developed the vocal program at Circle in the Square Theatre School, is Singers on Stage's founding artistic director.

Tickets are $10 for general admission. The Lamb's Theatre is at 130 W. 44th St. For reservations, call (888) SING-NYC or (212) 802-8708.
