The cast of the hit musical will be available to sign copies of their original cast recording at the lobby Bar 39, which is located on the mezzanine level of Dodger Stages. The Thursday-night post-performance signings will continue until further notice. The Music of Musicals — The Musical!, the longest-running show in the York Theatre Company's 35-year history, reopened at Dodger Stages, Stage Five, in February. Featuring music by Eric Rockwell, lyrics by Joanne Bogart and a book by Rockwell and Bogart, The Musical of Musicals is a satire of various musical theatre genres. One story is played five times, each in the style of a different musical theatre composer or team, including Rodgers and Hammerstein and Stephen Sondheim. Producers are the York Theatre Company, Melanie Herman, W. David McCoy and James Morgan.
Directed and choreographed by Pamela Hunt, the show's original cast has returned for the Dodgers run, including Craig Fols, Lovette George and authors Rockwell and Bogart. The design team comprises Mary Jo Dondlinger (lighting), John Carver Sullivan (costumes) and Morgan (set design).
Dodger Stages is located at 340 West 50th Street. Tickets, priced $55-$59.50, are available by calling (212) 239-6200. For more information visit www.musicalofmusicals.com.
