News Musical Spectacle King Kong Delays Broadway Arrival King Kong, the Australian musical spectacle that was anticipated to arrive on Broadway at the Foxwoods Theatre in December, has delayed its New York premiere.

In a statement released March 6, Carmen Pavlovic, CEO of Global Creatures, said, "King Kong has been more than five years in the making and we are thrilled with the production that played to packed houses in Melbourne. We learnt so much from this first engagement. We realize that there are some exciting creative changes we can and want to make before King Kong comes home to New York City and we don’t want to be pressured to rush in to meet any artificial deadlines. We want to make the best possible show. We will announce our plans when we can confirm our time-line to open on Broadway. It will be worth the wait!" The New York Times reports that King Kong could arrive on Broadway in spring 2015. Read more about King Kong here.

The 1,900-seat Foxwoods, which was previously home to Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, has been renamed The Lyric Theatre. It will now be home to a Broadway revival of On the Town, to be directed by John Rando, producers announced March 6. Read about the revival here.
