Into the Woods in Tagalog or Dreamgirls in Spanish? The multilingual communities of San Jose, CA will get a chance to experience musical theatre in their own languages when the American Musical Theatre of San Jose presents "Musicals in the Neighborhood" throughout Feb. and March.

Into the Woods in Tagalog or Dreamgirls in Spanish? The multilingual communities of San Jose, CA will get a chance to experience musical theatre in their own languages when the American Musical Theatre of San Jose presents "Musicals in the Neighborhood" throughout Feb. and March.

AMTSJ's Associate Artistic Director Marc Jacobs directs the free 40- minute concerts which present music from The Fantasticks, Seesaw, Rags, By Jupiter, Dreamgirls, Pacific Overtures, West Side Story, Five Guys Named Moe, Into the Woods, The Tap Dance Kid and Grease sung in English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and Tagalog.

The cast for "Musicals in the Neighborhood" includes Atticus Batacan, Corrie Borris and Julie Arbagey with Alex Hsu and Michael Ching.

Sites include several schools and the Children's Discovery Museum Feb. 13 at 1 PM and 2:30 PM, the Santee Community Center Feb. 27 at 1 PM, Sacred Heart Community Service Mar. 3 at 7 PM, the Southside Community Center March 5 at 3 PM and Gilroy Community Services March 20 at 12 PM and 2 PM.
