News Musicals to Be Showcased at London’s Donmar Warehouse Two new musicals by John Farndon will be showcased for one performance at London’s Donmar Warehouse Dec. 15.

Dreamweaver and Anya will be staged with a 40-strong company including West End performers Eliza Lumley (Mary Poppins) and Graham Bickley (High Society). Dreamweaver, for which Farndon wrote book, lyrics and co-wrote the music with Bernard Reilly, is the story of an Irish theatre company staging a version of Orpheus in the Underworld.

Anya is based on a true story. Set in Stalin’s Russia and also in America, the show centers on a blighted love affair between an American naval officer and a Russian singer.

The showcase is directed by Janey Clarke, with musical direction by Warren Wills. Both Clark and Mills recently staged Woody Allen’s Murder Mystery Blues at New York City’s 59E59 Theatres.

Farndon’s other musicals include The Fifth Duchess with Howard Ginsberg.
