Red, Hot and Blue, about a former manicurist, an ex-con and a square boyfriend, will kick off the season Oct. 2-14. The musical, with a book by Russel Crouse and Howard Lindsay, features song titles such as "It's De-Lovely," "Down in the Depths on the 90th Floor," "How’m I Ridin’?" and "A Little Skipper from Heaven Above." The original Broadway production starred Ethel Merman, Jimmy Durante and Bob Hope.
As previously announced, the five-show season will continue with Fade Out – Fade In, the spoof of 1930's Hollywood, Oct. 16-28. It has book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and music by Jule Styne.
Also included are George and Ira Gershwin's musical revue Strike Up the Band (March 12-24, 2013); the Stan Daniels musical Same Time, Next Year, based on the Bernard Slade play about a couple who meet for a tryst every 24 years (April 2-14, 2013); and the Jerome Kern-Guy Bolton-P.G. Wodehouse musical Leave It to Jane, which satirizes college life in a midwestern U.S. town (April 16-28, 2013).
