News Must See! Heather Headley Dazzles in Enchanting Into the Woods; McClure, Gotay, Shaddow, Samonsky and Dilly Among All-Star Cast The Muny production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into the Woods — starring Grammy Award winner Heather Headley, who won a Tony Award for her performance in the title role of Aida, as The Witch — began July 21.

Directed by Gary Griffin, the musical fairytale plays the St. Louis venue through July 27.

Joining Headley are Elena Shaddow (Cinderella), Erin Dilly (Baker’s Wife), Rob McClure (Baker), Ken Page (Narrator), Andrew Samonsky (Cinderella’s Prince/Wolf), Ryan Silverman (Rapunzel’s Prince), Jason Gotay (Jack), Ellen Harvey (Cinderella’s Stepmother), Sara Kapner (Little Red Ridinghood), Samantha Massell (Rapunzel), Michael McCormick (Mysterious Man/Cinderella’s Father) and Zoe Vonder Haar (Jack’s Mother) with Anna Blair (Granny/Cinderella’s Stepmother), Jennifer Diamond (Florinda), Gary Glasgow (Steward), Maggie Lakis (Milky White) and April Strelinger (Lucinda).

The production also has choreography by Chris Bailey, music direction by Brad Haak, scenic design by Michael Schweikardt, costume design by Andrea Lauer, lighting design by Rob Denton, sound design by John Shivers and David Patridge, and video design by Matthew Young. Wig design is by John Metzner, and the production stage manager is Monica Dickhens.

Into The Woods, according to production notes, "intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales and follows them to explore the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. Journey with the Baker and his wife, as they work to lift the Witch’s spell with the help of Little Red Ridinghood, Jack, Rapunzel, Cinderella and others."
