You loved her in Jesus Christ Superstar. Now a Colorado troupe is exploring the mystery of Mary Magdalene in a world premiere drama, My Magdalene, April 14-May 14.

Written and produced by Laura-Lea Cannon and David Tresemer at The Nomad Theatre in Boulder, CO, My Magdelene asks, "Who was Mary Magdalene? Prostitute? Priestess? Saint or Seer? Founder of the mystical Gnostic traditions of Southern France? Inspiration for troubadours?"

The writers conducted research in Israel and France, and choose to tell the story through "the inner life of a confused woman during the war years of Vietnam."

Seattle resident Heidi Rose Robbins directs. Music is by Beth Quist and Jesse Manno, with choreography by Sharron Rose.

The cast includes Lori Hansen (Mary), Heather Sills (Jane/Clara), Michael Eberle (Paul), Marta Aarli and Allyson Calloway-Jones (as Angels) and Mark Hoge (Yeshua), David Tresemer, Laura-Lea Cannon and Michael Eberle. The production, by The New Troubadours, opens April 14 (after an April 13 preview) at The Nomad Theatre, 1410 Quince St., in Boulder.

Tickets are $12-$14. For reservations, call the (303) 443 7510.
