Adapted by Sam and Bella Spewack from the French play La Cuisine des Anges by Albert Husson, My Three Angels tells the story of the hapless but happy Felix Ducotel whose livelihood -- a general store in French Guyana -- is about to be taken away by the store's owner. Three unlucky saviors (in the guise of convicts hired to repair the store's leaking roof) set out to save Felix, his family and the store.

The play first premiered on Broadway in 1953 with direction by Jose Ferrer and served as the basis for the 1955 Humphrey Bogart film, "We're No Angels."

Next's associate artistic director Sarah Tucker directs Roderick Peeples (Henri Trochard), Kevin Theis (Joseph), Cynthia Cervini, Ian Christopher, Brooks Darrah, Lindsey Kanter, Joe Lehman, Michael Nowak and Nathan Vogt.

Laxmi Kumaran is the stage manager with Julie Felise Dubiner as dramaturg. The design team includes Geoff Curley (sets), Joel Moritz, USA (lighting), Beth Tallon (costumes), Andrew Reuland (props) and Teff Uchima (sound).

Tickets are $22-$14 and are available at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center or by calling (847) 475-1875. The Next Theatre is located inside the Cultural Center situated at Noyes and Ridge.
