News   NAATCO's A Play on War Makes World Premiere Off-Broadway Feb. 12
The National Asian American Theatre Company world premiere of Jenny Connell and Rubén Polendo's A Play on War begins performances Off-Broadway Feb. 12.

Inspired by Brecht's Mother Courage and Her Children, co-author Polendo stages the play that will officially open Feb. 16 and run through March 16 at the Connelly Theater.

A Play on War features Mia Katigbak, Jon Norman Schneider, Nikki Calonge, Orville Mendoza, Marcus Ho, Brian Hirono, Nathan Elam and Bushra Laskar.

The production, according to press notes, "incorporates abstractions of musical theatre, Arabic clowning, and Peking opera to create a new ferocious comedy about a war-torn landscape populated by characters on bicycles, all desperate to survive."

The creative team includes Justin Nestor (set design), Kate Ashton (lighting design), Candida K. Nichols (costume design), with original compositions and live music by Adam Cochran.

For tickets, phone (212) 352-3101. The Connelly Theater is located at 220 East 4th Street. Visit NAATCO.
