The film will begin its run at the Quad Oct. 12. Engagements are also scheduled for the Regent Showcase in Los Angeles, CA (beginning Oct. 19), Loft Cinemas in Tempe, AZ (beginning Nov. 9), Music Box Theatre in Chicago, IL (beginning Nov. 16) and the Gateway Cinemas in Ft. Lauderdale, FL (beginning Nov. 23).
The film, co-directed by Robert Schrock and Troy Christian, features Jason Currie, Kevin Stea, Joe Souza, Joseph Keane, Phong Truong, Salvatore Vassallo, Andrew Blake James, Anthony Manough, Jaymes Hodges, and original stage cast member Vincent Zamora. The musical celebrates male nudity.
Naked Boys Singing opened at the Actor's Playhouse in New York July 22, 1999, after a successful run at the Celebration Theatre in Los Angeles. The New York run has since been moved to Theatre 4, The John Houseman Theater, the 47th Street Theatre and the Julia Miles Theatre. The work has played in more than 20 countries and toured theatres around the country.
The score includes such numbers as "Fight the Urge," "The Bliss of a Bris," "Muscle Addiction," "Nothing But the Radio On," "Members Only" and "Window to Window."
