The Evan Bergman-directed production of Nancy Hasty's new play, Bobbi Boland opens March 1 at the Arclight Theatre on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Previews for the show began Feb. 15.

The cast for the show features Rose McGuire, Gregg Henry, Holiday Segal, Byron Loyd, David Little and Tanya Clarke.

As reported, the play is set in the south in the mid-'60s. The story involves a former Miss Florida (Rose McGuire in the title role) who demonstrates "just how far she will go to protect her realm." The character Bobbi Boland has built a life that could be compared to a shrine, symbolized by the glass cabinet that houses her 1947 "crown" in her living room. Boland's formal world is tossed into upheaval with the arrival of a young, beautiful woman who is representative of the '60s counter-culture.

The creative team comprises scenic designer John Farrell, costume designer Jill Kliber, lighting designer Steve Rust and sound designer Cynthia Tuohy.

Tickets are $30 for previews and $40 after opening. The Arclight Theatre is located at 152 W. 71 St. between Columbus and Broadway. For tickets call Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200. —By Murdoch McBride
