News   Nathan Lane Gets in Bed with "Ellen DeGeneres" on Talk Show, May 3

Tony Award winner Nathan Lane will be a guest on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" May 3, as the host emcees her show from bed.

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" airs locally in New York City on NBC at 4 PM (ET). Check your local listings. Due to a back injury sustained by the Emmy Award-winning talk show host, doctors suggested DeGeneres remain on bed rest until they could perform further tests. The workaholic DeGeneres decided to incorporate her condition into the show rather than cancel. So, guests this week (among them Ryan Seacrest and Lindsay Lohan) have sat bedside with her or in their own roll-on hospital bed.

Lane last appeared on Broadway in Butley. In addition to his Tony-winning roles in The Producers and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, he has starred in The Odd Couple, Present Laughter, Merlin, The Wind in the Willows, Some Americans Abroad, On Borrowed Time, Guys and Dolls, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Love! Valour! Compassion! and The Man Who Came to Dinner. The actor has also been featured in such films as "Addams Family Values," "Mousehunt," "Love's Labour's Lost," "The Lion King" (in voice) and "The Birdcage," scoring a Golden Globe nomination for his work in the latter. He was also seen in the film adaptations of "Nicholas Nickleby" and "The Producers."
