Lane will join Robert Emms (West End's War Horse), Julia Roberts (Three Days of Rain), Lily Collins and Armie Hammer for the untitled feature film that re-creates "Snow White" and features direction by Tarsem Singh.
The film, according to Relativity, is the story of "an evil queen and an exiled princess [who] struggle for control of their kingdom in a spirited adventure comedy, filled with jealousy, romance and betrayal."
Lane will play Brighton, the Queen's servant, in the movie that is currently in pre-production and is set for a June 29, 2012 release.
Lane is also set to produce and star in an upcoming USA Networks half-hour comedy entitled "On We Go." Lane will play an unlucky actor who resembles, but is not, Nathan Lane.
The sitcom, written and also produced by Douglas McGrath, will follow Lane as he must put his Broadway aspirations on hold to return to his Texas hometown when his father's health is at risk.
The project is currently in development, and an airdate has not been set.
Lane won the Tony Award in 1996 for his performance in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and again in 2001 for his performance in The Producers. He was last seen on Broadway in The Addams Family.
