News National Board of Review Honors Angels in America Film Tony Kushner's screen adaptation of his two-part epic play, Angels in America, has been named Best Film or Mini-Series Made for Cable TV by the National Board of Review.

Angels in America will debut on HBO Dec. 7 and 14. The star-studded cast of the film will feature Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Emma Thompson, Mary-Louise Parker, Jeffrey Wright, Justin Kirk, Ben Shenkman, Patrick Wilson, James Cromwell, Michael Gambon and Simon Callow. The pay cable service will air the Mike Nichols-directed movie in two three-hour segments on successive Sundays 8-11PM (ET). Check your local listings.

Kushner's stage works, Angels in America: Millennium Approaches and Angels in America: Perestroika, won the Best Play Tony Awards in 1993 and 1994, respectively. The first half of the theatrical epic which centered on AIDS, religion, family, sexuality, spirituality and politics, was also won the Pulitzer Prize in Drama.
