The play will be directed by the National's artistic director Nicholas Hytner, who has previously collaborated with Bennett on the world-premiere productions of Bennett's The Madness of George III (subsequently also on film, and currently being revived in the West End in a new production by Christopher Luscombe that opens Jan. 23 at the Apollo Theatre), The History Boys (subsequently also in the West End, on Broadway and on film), and The Habit of Art, as well as Bennett's adaptation of The Wind in the Willows, all at the National, as well as The Lady in the Van in the West End.
There are no further casting or production details available yet, nor what the play is about.
