News National Tour of Hair Brings Peace and Love Back to Broadway July 5 The national tour of the Tony Award-winning 2009 revival of Hair returns to Broadway for a limited engagement beginning July 5 at the St. James Theatre.

The Broadway engagement is a summer stop on the current national tour of Hair, which launched in the fall of 2010. Hair will officially open July 13 for a run through Sept. 10. The tour is scheduled to continue across the U.S. following the Broadway return.

Tony Award nominee Diane Paulus directs the production, which has choreography by Karole Armitage.

To celebrate Hair's return to Broadway, producers are making 100 free tickets available for the July 5 performance. Fans can line up beginning at 1 PM to be the first in line to snag a free ticket. Fans are encouraged to dress in hippie attire. Cast members will also select the two best-dressed male and female fans, who will win a walk-on in a future Broadway performance of Hair.

The cast includes Steel Burkhardt as Berger, Paris Remillard as Claude, Matt DeAngelis as Woof, Kaitlin Kiyan as Crissy, Darius Nichols as Hud, Kacie Sheik as Jeanie, London cast member Phyre Hawkins as Dionne and Central Park cast member Caren Lyn Tackett as Sheila. The cast also includes: Shaleah Adkisson, Emily Afton, Nicholas Belton, Larkin Bogan, Corey Bradley, Marshal Kennedy Carolan, Laura Dreyfuss, Mike Evariste, Lulu Fall, Tripp Fountain, Nkrumah Gatling, Allison Guinn, Sara King, Josh Lamon, John Moauro, Christine Nolan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Arbender Robinson, Cailan Rose, Tanesha Ross, Jen Sese and Lee Zarrett.

Hair has book and lyrics by the late Gerome Ragni and James Rado and music by Galt MacDermot. The Hair creative team includes set designer Scott Pask, costume designer Michael McDonald, lighting designer Kevin Adams and sound designer Acme Sound Partners. Hair is presented by The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director), Joey Parnes, Nederlander Productions Inc., Carl Moellenberg/Wenlarbar Productions, Rebecca Gold/Myla Lerner, Rick Costello, Joy Newman & David Schumeister, Paul G. Rice/Paul Bartz, Debbie Bisno, Christopher Hart Productions, John Pinckard, Terry Schnuck, and by special arrangement with Elizabeth Ireland McCann.
