Baitz, whose play Other Desert Cities was read during the 2010 Ojai Playwrights Conference prior to its acclaimed Off-Broadway debut this winter at Lincoln Center Theater, is being presented with the 2011 OPC Award for his contribution to American theatre.
OPC artistic director Robert Egan directs the 5:30 evening at Matilija Auditorium, which explores the themes of love, lust and laughter in Baitz's plays.
Keach, who starred in Other Desert Cities, is set to appear alongside Harris and Rifkin, as well as Kate Burton, David Burtka, Kim Maxwell, Sonya Walger, Steven Weber, Patricia Wetting and Noah Wyle.
The performance will be followed by cocktails, a gourmet dinner and music at St. Thomas Aquinas Hall.
Baitz's plays include The Paris Letter, Ten Unknowns, Mizlansky/Zilinsky or Schmucks, A Fair Country, The Film Society, The Substance of Fire, The End of the Day and Three Hotels. He has also written the screenplays for "The Substance of Fire" and "People I Know" as well as for TV's "Brothers & Sisters" (which he created), "The West Wing" and "Alias."
