Emmy winner Tatiana Maslany, currently on Broadway in Network, will star in HBO's re-imagined Perry Mason, according to Deadline. The limited series will be based on and use characters from Erle Stanley Gardner's series of the same name that ran 1957–1966.

Set in 1932 Los Angeles, Perry Mason will follow attorney Perry Mason as he takes on the case of a lifetime. Matthew Rhys will reportedly star in the title role; Maslany will play Sister Alice, leader of the Radiant Assembly of God.

Maslany starred in the BBC series Orphan Black. Her film roles include Stronger with Jake Gyllenhaal, Destroyer opposite Nicole Kidman, Two Lovers and a Bear, The Other Half, and The Woman in Gold, among others. She has been seen in the television shows Nativity, Flashpoint, and Parks and Recreation; and she has appeared onstage in Toronto in The Secret Garden, George Dandin, and A Christmas Carol, all at the Globe Theatre.

Mary Page Marlowe marked her New York stage debut.
