News Neuwirth, Hamlisch and NYC Featured in "How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days," Movie Opens Feb. 7 While the movie "Chicago," opens wide in theatres Feb. 7, one of the musical's most noted stage stars Bebe Neuwirth will be featured in its box office rival "How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days."

The movie, starring Matthew McConaughey ("A Time To Kill") and Kate Hudson ("Almost Famous"), is set up on the premise of two challenges. A "How-To" columnist (Hudson) for the fictional Composure Magazine sets off on her assignment to find a guy, drive him crazy with all things women do and — as the title implies — lose him in 10 days. Meanwhile, ad exec (McConaughey) makes an expensive wager with his boss that he can make a woman fall in love with him... in 10 days. As luck (and Hollywood) would have it, they find each other. Neuwirth makes an appearance as the magazine editor in the romantic comedy. Tony Award-Winning composer Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line) makes a cameo in the movie as himself. During filming, Hamlisch and Neuwirth gave the cast and crew an impromptu concert along with co-star Robert Klein.

Also featured prominentyl in the film is New York City itself. The film's principal photography began in Greenwich Village and all exterior shots were filmed in the Big Apple. Some NYC spots highlighted throughout the movie include the Staten Island Ferry, Madison Square Garden, the Manhattan Bridge, the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Customs House and the Conde Naste Building — which serves as the home to the film's faux publication.

Kristen Buckley, Brian Regan and Burr Steers are credited with the screenplay as Donald Petrie ("Miss Congeniality") directs. The movie, released by Paramount Pictures, opens wide Feb. 7. For more info, check www.howtoloseaguymovie.com
