The 7 PM event, according to press notes, "will be an entertaining, electrifying evening of dance set to music through the decades, from the 50's to hip hop."
The annual event will honor Tony winner Bebe Neuwirth, Anka K. Palitz and the Jerome Robbins Foundation. Neuwirth will receive the Rolex Dance Award and Palitz and the Robbins Foundation will both receive the Career Transition for Dancers' 2007 Award for Outstanding Contributions to the World of Dance.
In a statement, Allen Brill, president and CEO of Rolex Watch USA, said, "We are delighted to present the Rolex Dance Award to Bebe Neuwirth, one of the most celebrated dancer-singer-actresses of our time. Her career on stage and both in film and television are a testament to her versatility. As such a dedicated supporter of Career Transition for Dancers, it is an honor to be celebrating her career and many contributions to the world of dance."
Career Transition for Dancers, founded in 1985, helps dancers establish new careers when dance is no longer an option. Since its inception, the organization has helped thousands of professional dancers begin new careers. For more information about CTFD, visit www.careertransition.org.
