You may have heard about the idea for yet another 'reality-based' television show in which a woman is physically bound to a bunch of men and she one-by-one picks which one will get 'voted off' her island. That isn't exactly the premise for the New Directions' show premiering at the HomeGrown Theatre, but it draws its comparisons.

Memorial Days, written by John Attanas, will make its worldwide debut at the uptown Off-Off Broadway theatre August 12, officially opening Aug. 21 and run through September 18. The play will conclude the New Directions Theater's eighth season. John Gaines directs.

Days centers on two close brothers who fall for the same woman. What they don't know is that she's in love with yet another man. Set in the Adirondack Mountains, the play takes place over a string of Memorial Day weekends.

The cast of this holiday hilarity are Kate Downing, Glen Williamson, Cory Bonvillain, Karen Krantz, T.J. Mannix, Brian Patrick Mooney, Melissa Wolff, and Jensen Wheeler. The designers for Days are Mark Hankla for sets, Beth Turomsha for lights, and Tara E. Waugh for costumes.

New Directions presented the debut of Olga Humphrey's F-Stop and a return presentation of Richard Willett's Triptych this season. They have also premiered some of Attanas other works including Hermoine: Tales of Sexual Frustration,Cute Lonely Guys Looking For You and Night Checkers at the Red Apple. For tickets to Days, Aug. 12- Sept. 18 at the HomeGrown Theatre, 2628 Broadway at 99th St., call (212) 229-7500. Tickets are $15.
