New Georges, the Off-Broadway company dedicated to new plays by women, will kick off their new season with Eloise & Ray, a rural drama by Stephanie Fleischmann. Performances run Sept. 10-30 at the Ohio Theatre in Soho.

Eloise is a 16-year-old girl, stuck with her strict father in a small Colorado town portentously called Ovid. Ray is an older boy and a friend of Eloise's brother Ray, who left home at the age of nine and never returned. Ray is attracted to Eloise, while the latter sees in Ray memories of her long-lost sibling. That is, until Ray also leaves town.

The cast includes Black-Eyed Susan, a long-standing veteran of Mabou Mines and the Ridiculous Theatre Company, Chris Payne Gilbert as Ray and Maria Thayer as Eloise.

In the past, New Georges has presented works by Neena Beber, Diane Son and Elyse Singer.

Tickets are $15. The Ohio Theatre is located at 66 Wooster Street in Manhattan. For more information, call (212) 206-1515. --By Robert Simonson
