The New Group, the artistic home to director Scott Elliot, is now looking for a literal home after their office space's lease runs out on Jan. 1, 2000. For the last five years, the company has settled at 85 Fifth Avenue in Union Square.

Currently, the Group is seeking donations of time and money for "moving boxes, packing tape, new stationary, file folders, new phones, several hefty men and women to life and move boxes, grease for the palms of our landlords, file labels, storage boxes, a down payment, food for a staff that will be working many hours of unpaid overtime, paperclips, pushpins, bubble wrap and most of all, our peace of mind!"

A new location has not been settled on yet, but several options are under consideration, according to a New Group spokesperson.

The move will not effect the next New Group production, Marc Wolf's Asking and Telling, scheduled to run Dec. 7-Jan. 30 at the Theatre at St. Clement's. Notable New Group productions have included Goose Pimples, This Is Our Youth, East Is East, Curtains and Ecstasy.
