A new musical about the life of the late, flamboyant pianist Lee Liberace is heading to Broadway.

Variety reports that Liberace: The Man, the Music and the Memories is aiming for a fall 2009 Broadway run at a theatre to be announced. Edmund Gaynes and Nancy Bianconi (The Big Voice: God or Merman? and Picon Pie) will produce the New York engagement, which will feature Wayland Pickard as the late entertainer. The production also includes several supporting characters.

The show, according to the industry paper, "re-creates a Vegas showroom performance by the late [Liberace]."

Liberace: The Man, the Music and the Memories will be directed by Pamela Hall, who helmed Off-Broadway's Danny and Sylvia: The Danny Kaye Musical.
