News New Musical In Real Life to Receive Industry Reading at TFNA Trevor Bachman, Jonathan Sokolow and Joshua Brown will present a reading of their new musical In Real Life at Brooklyn's Theatre for a New Audience on Nov. 3, marking the show's second phase of development.

In Real Life previously received a reading at Tisch School of the Arts earlier this year. Producers Zachary Infante (TFANA) and Sydney Blaxill (The Flea Theater), have organized a closed reading to present the new draft to designers and collaborators. Here's how the show is billed by the creators: "Inspired by true events, In Real Life is a modern day, electro-acoustic ghost story about the real-life consequences of the digital world. The play surrounds the myth of Slenderman, an icon of Internet folklore who is attributed to the abduction of children and the subsequent violence of this generation’s teenagers all over the world. Adults reconcile with the changing landscape of communication, as the deepest and most disturbing fantasies of childhood manifest into reality on and offline."

The piece is directed by Ashley Brooke Monroe (Fun Home) and the company includes Chrissy Albanese, Sydney Blaxill, Gabriel Brown, Elizabeth Evans, Brian Falduto, Stevi Incremona, Zachary Infante, Kira Kull, Michael Lorz, Teri Madonna, Ben Schrager and Matt Stillo.

In Real Life is presented by Unabridged Productions in association with Martín Lara. Theatre for a New Audience’s Polonsky Shakespeare Center is located at 262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn.
