News New Musical The Chocolate Show!, Featuring James Patterson and Emily McNamara, Opens Feb. 14 The Chocolate Show!, Alan Golub and Laura Goldfader's new musical, officially opens Feb. 14 following previews that began Feb. 1 at the 47th Street Theatre.

Featuring a book and music by Golub and Goldfader and lyrics by Golub — with direction by Dan Foster — the cast comprises Emily McNamara (NEWSical The Musical, The Awesome 80's Prom), Laura D'Andre (Hair, Grease), Talene Monahon (Our Town, Carousel), Andrew Pandaleon (The History Of War, Forever Plaid) and James Patterson (Beauty and the Beast, State Fair). 

"On the final night of her reign as World Queen of the Cocoa Bean, the glamorous, often eccentric and hilariously unpredictable Cookie Conwell fulfills her lifelong dream of hosting 'The Chocolate Show!,' where she must choose her successor," press notes state. "Who will be the next to wear the solid chocolate crown? How will Cookie handle the transfer of power? And, oh yeah, is chocolate really bad for dogs?"

Audiences at the opening night performance will each receive the world's most expensive chocolate truffle by chocolatier Fritz Knipschildt, hand-crafted using a dark chocolate, classic ganache and a French Perigord truf­fle.

The production features choreography by Grady McLeod Bowman and music direction by Jeffrey Klitz.

The Chocolate Show! features scenic design by Steven C. Kemp, lighting design by Jimmy Lawlor, costume design by Orli Nativ and sound design by Nick Kourtides.
