A new not-for-profit troupe, Ergo Theatre Company, is producing the world premiere of a Hal Cantor comedy, The Bonus Round, Mar. 12-28, with an official opening night scheduled for Mar. 17.
The play is about the enigmatic and "mostly quizzical adventures" of a 16 year-old boy who -- obsessed with TV's "Jeopardy" -- answers people only in the form of a question ("Who is/What is...?").
Cantor's other plays include Made from Concentrate and Schtick Happens.
The Bonus Round is directed by Ergo's artistic director, Robert Jay Cronin (who staged All My Sons and Falsettos at Yale Rep as well as Ergo's inaugural production of Personals).
The cast includes Adinah Alexander, Kim Director, Tamera Gindlesperger, Devon Michaels, Jim Wisniewski and Elliott Meyer. Performances are Mon.-Sat. (call for times) at the American Theatre of Actors' Sargeant Theatre, 314 W. 54th St., 4th floor. (The Mar. 28 performance is a benefit for the Actors' Fund of America.) For tickets, $12, or more information, call (212) 501-2828.
