Lisa Loomer, Mac Wellman, Jose Rivera, and Octavio Solis are among 16 playwrights scheduled to introduce their new work as part of the ninth annual Taper Lab New Work Festival, beginning Nov. 7, running through Dec. 19.
This year, The Mark Taper Forum is producing the festival in conjunction with The Audrey Skirball-Kenis Theatre, Inc. and Dreamworks/SKG, with additional support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The public is invited free of charge to the Forum's Taper, Too space, to hear eight readings and seven workshops of new plays. The readings will occur on an extended weekend, Nov 7-10; and wrap up Dec 7-8. The workshops will receive two evening performances each, between Nov. 13 and Dec. 19.
Sandra Tsing Loh will perform a special performance event, Depth Becomes Her Dec. 6 at 8pm.
