The series, hosted by mogul Donald Trump, airs at 9 PM ET; check local listings. In the first episode of the season, press notes state, Trump "divides 16 new celebrities into male and female teams, then sends them off to bake and sell cupcakes to raise money for charity."

Joining Rivers in the competition are her daughter, Melissa Rivers, as well as Clint Black, Andrew Dice Clay, Annie Duke, Tom Green, Natalie Gulbis, Scott Hamilton, Jesse James, Claudia Jordan, Khloe Kardashian, Brian McKnight, Brande Roderick, Dennis Rodman, Herschel Walker and Tionne Watkins. All are competing for charity.

The 16 celebrities, according to a press release, "will compete in business-driven tasks around New York City using their fame, rolodexes and their business acumen to win weekly tasks, while ultimately battling with each other to stay out of the boardroom and avoid hearing those dreaded words 'You're Fired!' They'll be subjected to long hours, grueling mental challenges, personality clashes and intense scrutiny — all without the help of their regular support system of agents, managers and personal assistants."

"The Celebrity Apprentice" is produced by Mark Burnett Productions in association with Trump Productions LLC. Mark Burnett, Donald Trump, Page Feldman and Eden Gaha are Executive Producers.

Joan Rivers made her Broadway stage debut in Fun City and later was a replacement player in Neil Simon's Broadway Bound. A stand-up comic making guest-host appearances on "The Tonight Show," Rivers eventually hosted her own talk show, "The Joan Rivers Show." She received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress for her work in Sally Marr...and Her Escorts — which she also co-wrote. Her most recent theatrical outing was in her autobiographical A Work in Progress by a Life in Progress.
