Mariah MacCarthy’s Baby Mama: One Woman’s Quest to Give Her Child to Gay People will play a limited run in New York this winter. The new solo show, which tracks her journey from accidental conception to the placement of her child with the couple of her dreams, is set to run January 5-29, 2017, at the IRT Theater.

The show has toured San Diego, Cincinnati, and Provincetown, and was the winner of The Dr. Robert J. Thierauf Producer’s Pick Award of the Cincinnati Fringe Festival.

“I’m telling this story myself so I can be the role model I didn’t have while it was happening,” says MacCarthy in a press statement. “You’re gonna cry, you’re gonna have a good time, and you’re also gonna feel things and maybe call your mom.”
