Swings are some of the lesser-known players in the business, but these actors—who cover all of the ensemble tracks in a show (and sometimes principal roles, too)—are some of the most crucial members of any company.

A new comedy series, Swings, which is currently in production, hopes to shine a light on these oft-overlooked actors.

Created by Kristy LaPointe (Yoga 101, #interns), Kevin Vidal (Come From Away Toronto, Workin' Moms), and Christian Smith (Second City Toronto, Netflix’s Alias Grace), the series will be produced and directed by Lora Campbell (The Beaverton Digital, History of Tomorrow, Waterford Valley Pictures).

The show has been submitted to the Independent Production Fund, which provides financing for creators of original Canadian web series, in hopes of funding the full ten-episode season.
