Martin, who also created "Slings and Arrows" and "Michael Tuesdays & Thursdays," will write and executive produce the series. The untitled project centers on a cartoonist struggling to come to terms with his own fractured personal life and the ideal married life that he portrays in his comic strip.

Noreen Halpern will co-produce with Martin. A target season premiere for the half-hour series was not revealed.

Martin earned a Tony Award for penning the book to The Drowsy Chaperone. He was Tony-nominated for his performance as Man in Chair. He also co-wrote the book to the Broadway holiday musical Elf.
