The complex — which houses five spaces — located on 50th Street (between Eighth and Ninth Avenue) will offer a $5 discount for any ticket purchased with a donation of five new, sealed food products through Jan. 6, 2007. (Some restrictions apply, see box office for details.)
"As we continue to expand our mandate, and reach out to our community and our neighbors, we can think of no more pressing need than hunger," New World Stages’ executive director Beverley D. MacKeen explains. "If we can make even a small difference in the lives of New Yorkers who are struggling during this season, then we can all enjoy the holidays more.”
Currently playing at the New World theatres are Evil Dead: The Musical (on Stage 1), Mimi Le Duck (Stage 3), The Altar Boyz and Naked Boys Singing! (Stage 4) and How to Save the World and Find True Love in 90 Minutes (Stage 5). Stage 2 was recently home to Drumstruck and will next house Bill W and Dr. Bob.
