Her latest, Hammerklavier, is a stage adaptation of her autobiographical novel set in Paris. It describes the various stages of a woman's life, focussing on her shared love, with her father, of a Beethoven sonata. The book won an Academie Francaise Award in 1997 and the play has been seen at Edinburgh (2002) and in Paris.
Now it has been announced that a production of Hammerklavier will be staged at Jermyn Street Theatre beginning Sept. 1 for a four-week season. It will star Susie Lindeman with direction by Mark Kilmurry.
