PlayBlog New York Auditions for New NBC Series "The Voice" Announced NBC and John De Mol and Mark Burnett, the executive producers of NBC's "The Voice," will hold auditions for the upcoming reality singing competition in New York Jan. 15.

The auditions will take place at S.I.R. Studios (520 West 25th Street) beginning at 8 AM. Applicants must be over 18 years of age and a legal U.S. resident to audition.

According to press notes, "'The Voice,' based on hit series 'The Voice of Holland,' is a show about finding real talent - the best voice, right attitude, unique sound and a performance that makes a lasting impression. The producers are looking for all musical styles. If selected, singers will be mentored by music industry professionals, compete weekly in front of a panel of celebrity coaches and America will decide which singer is worthy of the grand prize. Contestants should be prepared to share personal stories and explain why they are a star in the making."
