Classic Arts News New York City Ballet Promotes Nine to Soloist New York City Ballet has promoted nine members of its corps de ballet to soloist, the company announced.
The newly promoted dancers are Ellen Bar, Antonio Carmena, Jason Fowler, Sterling Hyltin, Rebecca Krohn, Sara Mearns, Amar Ramasar, Johnathan Stafford, and Andrew Veyette.

All of the dancers trained at NYCB's School of American Ballet, for various lengths of time; all were born in the United States except for Carmena, a native of Madrid. They have spent between two and ten years as members of the corps.

City Ballet recently visited the Kennedy Center for a weeklong engagement; its spring Lincoln Center season starts on April 25.
