News New York Debut of David Greig's The Events Will Play New York Theatre Workshop David Greig's The Events, a drama about the survivor in the aftermath of a tragedy, will receive its New York debut at the New York Theatre Workshop.

Directed by Ramin Gray, the production will begin performances in February 2015 as the final addition to the Workshop's 2014-15 season.

"The Events follows one survivor's search for compassion, peace, and understanding in the wake of unthinkable violence," press notes state. "Delving into religion, faith, politics and reason, Ramin Gray's theatrically inventive production features a soaring soundtrack and different choir at each performance."

The Events premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it received a Fringe First and the Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award.

New York Theatre Workshop's 2014-15 season will also include the previously announced U.S. premiere of Scenes from a Marriage written by Ingmar Bergman, English version by Emily Mann and conceived and directed by Ivo van Hove; the New York premiere of The Invisible Hand, written by Ayad Akhtar and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; and the New York premiere of Forever, written and performed by Dael Orlandersmith and directed by Neel Keller.
