News New York Leg of Parks' 365 Days/365 Plays Begins Nov. 13 365 Days/365 Plays, the ambitious project from the Pulitzer-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks, begins its New York leg with a free presentation of a handful of the works at the Public Theater on Nov. 13 at 6:30 PM and 9 PM.

The project includes 365 plays by Suzan-Lori Parks (Topdog/Underdog). She wrote one a day for 365 days beginning in November 2002.

Michael Greif directs the event at the Public, which will include seven plays — Parks' first week's worth. Performers include Reg E. Cathey, Rob Campbell, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Jojo Gonzalez, André Holland, Didi O'Connell, Rachel Holmes, and Joan MacIntosh. Between the two showtimes will be a book party and signing with Parks at 7:15 PM.

365 Days/365 Plays, co-produced by Parks and Bonnie Metzgar, will eventually involve 65 companies from around New York and many more in 14 cities around the nation.

After the Public, various New York companies will take turns participating. Each will present seven of Parks' plays on a single day, in the manner of their choosing. The groups that have scheduled their events so far are the Foundry Theatre, Guerilla Girls on Tour, Galapagos Art Space, Queens Theatre in the Park, Hourglass Group and Scenedowntown. Many other companies will follow them.

Intermittently throughout the project will be "First Sundays" presentations, in which the companies will come together at the Public Theater to give their presentations again. All the events that have been scheduled so far are as follows:
