News   New York Philharmonic Welcomes Tony Winner Barbara Cook Nov. 19 and 20 Tony winner Barbara Cook performs in concert with the New York Philharmonic Nov. 19 and 20 at 7:30 PM to celebrate her 80th birthday.

Cook, it was also recently announced, will present an encore performance with the famed orchestra Jan. 8, 2008, at 7:30 PM. Lee Musiker conducts all three evenings, which feature a mix of Broadway and popular standards. Cook last appeared with the Philharmonic in 1985 when she played Sally Durant Plummer in the all-star concert version of Stephen Sondheim's Follies.

Barbara Cook has starred on Broadway in Flahooley, Candide, The Gay Life, The Music Man and She Loves Me. She received a Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony Award for her performance in The Music Man, and her one-woman show, Mostly Sondheim, was nominated for a Tony in the Best Special Theatrical Event category. Cook was most recently on the New York stage in Barbara Cook's Broadway. Both Mostly Sondheim and Barbara Cook's Broadway were recorded for DRG. Cook made her solo debut at the Metropolitan Opera, which was also released on DRG Records.
